Important!
Please read this section carefully and register your child for the appropriate section.
This year we have added an Unrated Section intended to introduce kids to tournament chess. This section will only have 4 rounds and is meant for kids to be able to participate, have fun, and learn to play tournament games against other kids. The unrated section does not require your child to have a USCF ID to play and your child will not recieve an official US Chess rating. On the registration page choose “I do not have a USCF ID”. We may be more linient with kids in this section as they learn the rules of how to play in a real chess tournament. All kids in this section will still recieve a small prize or possibly a small trophy, but will not be eligible for the main trophies or for any championship title. Games from this section will not count towards team points in the rated section.
The Rated Section is the standard USCF tournament kids will be used to if they have played in past US Chess tournements. Even if your child has never played in a tournament before, if you want them to have an official US Chess rating this is the section you want to sign them up for. This section requires your child to have an active US Chess ID that is separate from the tournament entry fee and can be purchased or renewed here: https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess and then you must return to this page to register for the tournament. Kids playing in this section will be eligiable for the main trophies and championship titles.
