City Creek Chess is happy to announce that we now are hosting USCF-rated Quick Tournaments on the last Wednesday of each month! We’ll be hosting these tournaments primarily in a Quad format with three, G/15 d/3, rounds per quad.
When: last Wednesday of each month @ 7PM
Where: Kneader’s Bakery & Café (28 S State St, #235, Salt Lake City, UT 84111) Tournament Details
Entry Fee: $5
Prize per Quad: $16
Tournament Format: Four-player Quads
Time Control: G/15 d/3
Rounds: 3
Schedule: Pairings at 7PM; Round one: 7:10PM; Round two: 7:45PM; Round three: 8:20PM
Quad Details:
A Quad is a four-player round-robin tournament where everyone will be divided into groups of four players of similar ratings, then they will play three rounds within that group to declare the overall winner.
Tournament Format Variations:
If quads are paired and one to three players remain who have not been paired in a quad, we may add them to the last quad paired and change to a Swiss System tournament format.
Prize per Swiss: 1st Place: $17; 2nd Place: $9
