July Quads
What is a Chess Quad?A chess quad is a round-robin tournament involving four players. Each participant plays one game against each of the other three players.Quads will be based on similarly rated opponents.
Date:Saturday, July 20th
Location:Warnock Engineering Building (WEB)72 S Central Campus DriveSalt Lake City, UT 84112
USCF Membership:This event is USCF rated and a USCF membership is required to participate. If you do not have a USCF Membership you can register at https://new.uschess.org/
Time:Starting at 12:00 PMRounds will follow immediately after all games in the quad are finishedEvent is expected to go until 6:30 PM
Time Control:G/60;+5 (Game in 60 minutes with a 5-second increment per move)Players are responsible for supplying equipment (pieces, board, and clock) and for knowing how to set clocks. (USCF Rule 16B)
Registration:Please register in advance by emailing mariorhomer@gmail.com with your name, rating, and USCF ID. On-site registration will be from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM. In the event of insufficient players the bottom two sections will be combined and play a three round swiss tournament.
Entry Fee:$10Please bring cash and pay on-site.On-site registration will be $15
Prizes:Winner of each quad gets $30Prizes will be split evenly in the event of a tie.
If played the top 2 places in the swiss will get prizes based on number of players.
